The Help Center

What are your fees?

Your initial consultation call is free and lasts 15-20 minutes.

Sessions are $150 for a 50 minutes.

1.5 hour co-parenting or family sessions are $200 for 80 minutes.

Reasons some chose private pay

There are a few reasons why an individual may choose to not use their insurance. Insurance companies require a diagnosis (that then becomes a part of your medical record) and it's been my experience that diagnoses can be more harmful than helpful, at least in the mental health realm.

Typically insurance companies also have a set number of sessions or treatment requirements and I prefer to work on a case by case basis with a client rather than bend to fit what insurance dictates. (this includes session lengths, frequencies, number of sessions, etc.).

What happens in a consult call?

First we’ll chat via secure video for 15-20 minutes. During this consultation, we’ll see if we’re a good match and I’ll answer any questions you may have. I’ll ask you about what brings you to therapy at this time (why now? What’s going on in your life? What changes would you like to see?)

Then if both parties agree, we’ll schedule you for your first session where I’ll ask a bit more about you, your family history, upbringing and what you’d most like out of therapy

What's the cancellation policy?

There will be no charge for any cancellation of an appointment within 24 hours of scheduled time. For cancellations outside of the 24 hour notice window or no shows, you will be charge a fee equal to the rate of the session.

This policy applies even if you are using insurance.

How does virtual therapy work?

You’ll get a link sent to either your email or through a text (you’ll let me know your preference) and you’ll click it! As long as you have a reliable internet connection, we’ll be able to connect and see each other via video.

Ideally, you’ll be in a place that feels safe and secure and offers privacy while we’re in session. (You’ll also need to physically be located in Ohio or New Jersey, where I’m licensed).

Telehealth does pose some potential risks including possible interruption to connection, technical difficulties and unauthorized access.

I use Simple Practice for all my video/telehealth/client communications which is HIPAA compliant and a secure method of conducting therapy.

Do you offer in-person sessions?
Do you take insurance?

I accept a few major insurances. Aetna, Optum and UHC/UMR.

If I do not accept your insurance, I am able to provide you with a superbill (a print out that shows what you paid/for what service) that you can use for possible reimbursement from your insurance company for out of network benefits.

As an out-of-network provider, I have partnered with Mentaya. Mentaya helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. Which means no extra leg work on your part at all! Use the tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

How do I pay for sessions?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are acceptable methods of payment as well as most FSAs/HSAs. I encourage clients to set up autopay through their client portal which will automatically bill the card on file for the session rate after completion of session. All receipts available through your client portal.

What are your hours?

I see clients Monday through Thursday 12pm-7pm for 50 minute sessions.

How long will I be in therapy?

There is no set number of sessions that are required. We work together to create the ideal treatment plan for you.

Yes, I do offer in-person sessions.
